Spring has sprung

Spring feels like it’s been a long time coming, but finally, I can feel and smell it in the air. To me, one of the first signs of spring, is cherry blossom. It dots itself on bare branches, opens, and then petals fall like snow to the earth.

I have a lovely young friend Julia, whose favourite flower is cherry blossom. Julia is a  feminine girl who I love; having two boys I don’t get a lot of pink in my life. So here’s to spring and to pink in all its shades.

  1. I’m jealous of your spring. It’s turning to fall here and soon it will be winter – my first icy, snowy cold winter in almost 20 years. Can I trade you for spring?

    • Just to make you feel better, I do live in Melbourne, the city of four seasons in one day.You can go out to the supermarket to buy BBQ food because it’s sunny and 38 degrees Celsius and by the time you’ve come out it’s plunged to 17 and there’s a thunderstorm!

  2. i always forget there are places in the world experiencing entirely opposite seasons…it’s very exciting for me to connect with people around my country and the world. i don’t get to travel really, but the blogosphere is the next best thing. fall is beautiful here with leaves of every color coming soon, but spring is for new beginnings. i hope you have a lovely season.. surrounded by owls and cherry blossoms!
