Crazy Owl Lady

I am very excited(and slightly nervous) because tomorrow I am having my first stall at Sisters’ Market in Brunswick. It has been an owl factory in my house lately and my eldest son has started calling me “Crazy Owl lady”.

There are owls everywhere and they seem to be taking over the house. I have been busy making owlets fromΒ up-cycledΒ pure wool jumpers which I felted in my washing machine.

I think they are very sweet. What do you think?

I will also have prints of my original paintings there. I love this painting “Darling”. It makes me feel happy and peaceful whenever I look at it.

  1. Have just found this due to you ‘liking’ my blog. (Thank you very much by the way!). These Owls are gorgeous! I have a real thing about owls and these are gorgeous!

  2. I love your felted owls, as well as the painting! Thrifting is a large part of the fun in creating mixed-media work, don’t you think? Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and reading The Girl With the Red Socks:)

  3. How was your first day at the Sister’s Market? I must admit I’d never thought much about owls until I stated a tumblr blog. Owl lovers abound on tumblr. Your little creations are charming. Do you make them from clothing items or do you knit the owls yourself?
Thanks for liking my recent post. I’m still new at searching WordPress to see what others are sharing, so I appreciate the like that led me to your blog.

    • Thank you for your nice comment about my owls. I make them from old pure wool jumpers that I felt in my washing machine. If I knitted them myself, I’d have to charge hundreds of dollars for my time as I am a very slow knitter! My market started off very slowly but then improved in the afternoon. I enjoyed the experience and would like to do some more. πŸ™‚
